Circus, circus

I got free tickets to the Cole Bros. circus this weekend from work, so, while Rodney played in a golf tournament Friday night, I took the kids to see the circus. While it wasn't any Barnum and Bailey, the kids had a great time. Xan wasn't sure he wanted to go in to the huge tent in the mall parking lot, but he eventually warmed up to the idea. The free seats weren't in the best of locations (at the back) and they weren't the most comfortable (bleachers), but free is free.

While the seats were free, nothing else was. How about $5 cotton candy?

One of Will and Xan's favorite acts were the eight tigers, one of which would not behave and do what it was supposed to do. But, it eventually settled down so there were no Sigfried and Roy issues.

During intermission, Will and Xan rode a camel. Again. Xan wasn't sure he wanted to, but once he was distracted with getting tickets and following his brother up the stairs to board the animal, he got on without any trouble. Will thinks he may be allergic to camels because he had a sneezing fit soon after disembarking and returning to the bleachers.

I enjoyed the elephants. They had the baby doing some cute things.

Xan's favorite was the motorcycle tricks, especially ones in a sphere. I couldn't get any good photos of those riders, but it was a father and two teenagers, boy and girl. We met the teenaged boy, Eric, who was around 16 or 17 on our way out. He was very nice to the boys. The girl was younger maybe 14 or 15. Apparently three motorcycles riding around a large sphere very quickly is not considered child abuse...

Just to catch you up on the latest trend: Silly Bandz are no longer just bracelets. There are now Silly Rings (bottom) and Silly Necklaces (top). Behind is Will's pile of Bandz.
