Mother's Day weekend

We had a very busy week this week. Grandpa Mark and Grandma Nancy flew back to California Monday and Wednesday, respectively. This week we are heading to Illinois for Jill and Luke's wedding. It's great to be able to see family so often!

Master Chief Renae Morin hosted a good-bye party Saturday night for Rodney and his bosses, MGySgt Schultz and Capt. Phillips, who are also leaving. The sailors and Marines got Rodney a home-plate plaque with a K-bar. There is a close up of the plate below... can you find the error?

Here are the videos of the speeches:

Injuries! During Will's game Tuesday, Xan ran after a foul ball with a bunch of other kids and ran in to one of them, scoring himself a black left eye.

Rodney's going away party was a pool party for the kids, so they swam almost the entire time. Apparently, the finish on the pool is pretty rough because they had scraped up feet and fingers. But it didn't seem to slow them down too much. They just weren't sure if they were going to be able to hold their pencils in school tomorrow. They had no problem Legos and wrestler action figures, so pencils shouldn't be an issue.

We got free tickets to the new Pensacola Blue Wahoo's game (FYI, A wahoo is a fish and this team is a farm team for the Reds). The stadium just opened this season and is very nice. The Wahoos won 4-2 against the Birmingham team, which is a farm team for the White Sox. The stadium overlooks the Pensacola Bay.

The kids got to run the bases after the game. Here is the video: http://youtu.be/DX4pcLQJiNc

Well, I got one more photo of my baby birds before the flew off this week. I thought, at first, I had a empty nest, but they were actually hiding out next to the nest. before I could pout the plant back, they all flew off, so I got to see them fly, which was cool, since in the past years the babies just weren't there one morning. These guys never did return to the nest.
