... It's been a restful Thanksgiving weekend for the Guthrie's, although we did find some time for some fun. Friday night the boys stayed home with a sitter and the adults went to the Molly Ringwald's concert in downtown Pensacola.
They are a great 80's cover band and we went with Brynn and Greg, who hadn't ever been to one of their shows before. It was a great time!
Tonight we went to the Pensacola Ice Flyers ice hockey game at the Pensacola Civic Center. It was military appreciation night, and since Pen Air is a sponsor, we got free tickets to the game. Rodney had never been to a hockey game before and wasn't too excited about it. The boys weren't too sure they wanted to go either. But, surprisingly enough, everyone had a great time.
The Ice Flyers beat the Louisiana Ice Gators 1-0. The also has a lot of fun stuff for spectator participation, including "Chuck the Puck." For $5 you get six foam pucks to toss on to the ice between the 2nd and 3rd periods. The closest to the center spot wins $100. Fun stuff. The entire game was fun for the whole family, so much so that Xan cried when "the people went back in their cave" at the end of the game "so he couldn't watch them anymore." We plan to go back again sometime soon.
