Oshima Island

We headed off to a nearby Island with our friends, the Cruzes, yesterday. Here are the photos from the day:

The Cruzes introduced us to a water bridge on Oshima Island. So unique!

Rodney and Xan chose to keep their feet dry on the beach.

Will attempted to spear a fish with bamboo. He was unsuccessful.

While we were at the rock bridge, a lady kayaked through. I am not sure who was more surprised to see who.

Marilyn and Rodney practiced their photography while Alvin got to carry the backpack.

These concrete water breaks, or "jetties" intrigue me. They come in all sorts of shapes here in Japan, these are 3D crosses.

On the way back home, we got a flat tire. Bummer.

While the men fixed the flat tire, Marilyn and I headed off with out cameras and the boys in tow to see what we could find on a side road. We ended up finding the sweet Japanese lady you can see behind the boys.

It's amazing how many Japanese people speak some English. This lady saw us wandering the road and asked of we were sightseeing. She invited us in for curry, but we had to decline because we had just eaten lunch, but she then went back to her house and came out with snacks for us to take. So kind!

Special thanks to Marilyn, who took the photos that have me in them.
